The Royal Horticultural Society

created in 1804, is now a charity whose mission is to get people involved in the magical world of plants, at the same time working to make the UK a greener and more beautiful place.  The RHS offers so many gardens and country houses to explore, so many events to attend, so many learning opportunities!

Make an RHS Garden a priority stop on your next visit to the UK!

At left is Chatsworth House in Derbyshire, whose gardens are part of the Royal Horticultural Society programs.  President John F. Kennedy's sister, "Kick", was married to the heir of Chatsworth House, William Cavendish.  Kick died in an airplane crash in the Alps in 1948.
